The Rayban Wayfarer
As the summer is well upon us, and holiday season begins it's time to assess the sunglasses situation. With so many styles and brand sit's difficult to know which ones to choose. I mean which colour to get? Which style will suit you? Which brand is worth your money? Here at The Gentlemans Wardrobe HQ we narrowed it down to one cult classic......
The Rayban Wayfarer!!
Born in 1956, it's design was revolutionary due to people getting bored of the constant metal eye wear available on the market. They had their first boom in the 50's and 60's however there was a decline in the market come the 70's. Rayban decided to invest in a $50,000 mega deal with Burbank California which placed the Rayban Wayfarer in over 60 movies and television programs. Tom Cruises' wearing of the Wayfarer in the 1983 movie "Risky Business" marked the beginning of a Wayfarer phenomenon, 360,000 were sold that year alone.
Since then the Wayfarer has had it's ups and downs, the 90's didn't like them and its only been up until recently that the demand has returned for this iconic style.
The Gentlemans Wardrobe chose this pair of sunglasses as this summers must-have because unlike many other styles this styles suits all and there is a choice of colours and patterns, so there is a pair for everyone!!
Get shopping gents!!!!
The 21st Gentleman
As "The Gentlemans Wardrobe" We cater to the 21st century gentleman. Now who is the 21st gentleman?
Through the centuries the gentleman has always been the best dressed in town, immaculately groomed and he has always been the most eligible batchelor with women falling at his feet.
Now as far as fashion goes, the gentleman has been known to wear tights, jodhpurs, pixie style shoes, velvet pea jackets, dickie bow ties, normally they are suited and booted plus more. We have not long been in the 21st century and already there has been a surge in mens fashion especially streetwear..... hence the beginning of the the 21st century gentleman! He is the guy who may wear a graphic print tee, chino's, blazer and brogues. He may be the guy in the snapback, short shorts and oversized drop armhole vest. Fashion has taken a turn for more of an urban feel, it's like the 90's meets the 50's.
Here at The Gentlemans Wardrobe, we aim to provide on trend clothing, from brands around the globe for the 21st century gentleman!!!

Is Asos becoming too big?
In the last 7 or so years, we have watched Asos go from a UK based "as seen on screen" online retailer to a global success. They are known worldwide and are a one-stop-shop for everyone. However the only downfall is, are they too big? You have a big night out coming up and you need an outfit, your first thoughts are ill check out Asos, you then find yourself scrolling through 50+ pages and suddenly there is too much choice.
Asos's own range, which is wallet friendly has enough choice anyway let alone adding the umpteen other brands available. Are they trying to be the next Amazon for fashion go'ers? If so how will this effect how we browse on the site?
Our view on online shopping, is that it's an easier option to trawling around the high street. You know what you want and in a few clicks its being delivered to your doorstep (god bless the beauty of technology) so in our opinion Asos is getting too big, there is too much to search through to get us to find the product we are after in the shortest time possible and for the best price.
We love you Asos but please slow down!!!

TOWIE VS Made In Chelsea!!
Now we all know half the reason reality TV is so joyous to watch is because, half of the time, due to the nature of 'everyday' people, the cast tend to be wearing clothes from our beloved highstreet!!!
Here we are going to take a look at male cast members from both "The Only Way Is Essex" and "Made In Chelsea" and see which cast is the most stylish (if any at all)
Kirk Norcross (TOWIE)
Kirk wore this mismatched get-up to Essex Fashion Week. Personally here at TGW we think the red striped shirt, brown tweed blazer with leather shoulder patches and white jeans is a tad too much and throwing it all together..... he clearly got dressed somewhat in the dark!
Joey Essex (TOWIE)
When will Joey Essex ever get that beautiful light-bulb moment and throw those jeans out? Skinny jeans are great, just not that skinny. Again we are all for mixing highstreet and designer however Hermes is in a league of it's own it definitely should NOT be teamed with a matching baseball jacket and white high-tops.
James Argent (TOWIE)
Is Arg attending a wedding??? No he's not, he's on his way to a nightclub. Pink blazer, pink shirt, pink tie and pink handkerchief, white jeans and a fakebake to add to the sorbet colour mix. This is not style!
Spencer Matthews (MIC)
Oh Spencer, We aren't quite sure what event you attending? shiny shoes, unflattering jeans teamed with a graphic tee and a navy knit...... WHY? Not only is it a bad outfit combination, but its also unflattering, this is definitely a young Simon Cowell look!
Ollie Locke (MIC)
Finally!!! Hoorah for Ollie, the most stylish of the bunch. TGW loves this military style coat with the grey accents, teamed with skinnies (take note Joey Essex) and pixie boots. He could pass for Captain Jack Sparrow however this outfit works for Ollie he looks GREAT!
Hugo Taylor (MIC)
The pinstripe blazer isn't a favourite of TGW, however it works for Hugo, it's the right blue to team with black jeans and is highlighted by the white shirt underneath. Smart and simple, maybe just get rid of that belt.
